Hiring: World of Warcraft Guild Master!?
|
Have you seen this sign yet? Me either, but its not too far fetched now is it? Being a guildmaster for a 100+ person guide is no simple task. Having good members can make it easier but there is still alot of work to do. You organize raids, keep the peace, update the website, moderate the forums, track the wow news... and much much more...
Maia L @ QJ.net brought up a good point stating,
"If you are the employer, would you not be impressed at these achievements, especially if you know that this candidate is a college graduate:
* Leading the #1 guild (with over 200 active members) on World Of Warcraft's Dalaran server.
* Organizing 40-person raid groups 4 nights a week to conquer the most challenging dungeons in record time.
* Organizing the guild to collect necessary resources for each raid, including health/mana potions, herbs, and other special items.
* Keeping guild site up to date and moderating forums.
* Also designed a custom raid points tracker.
* Actively recruiting new members.
* Researching new dungeons and formulating strategies for defeating bosses."
It's an interesting idea, posting your in game achievements in your resume and not really that far fetched. You could easily doctor these achievements to look more appealing to those who might not understand what the game consists of... essentially you manage(d) a 200 person organization on a daily basis. You are a webmaster who runs a large volume forum, you organize group action events, recruit new members, and do market research...
hmm...
